Who are the San José Woodworkers?
San José Woodworkers is a wonderful and active club of men and women created for the use and enjoyment of its members and guests. While most of our members are from the South San Francisco Bay, members do come from Gilroy to San Francisco as well as the East Bay. Many of our members offer their services professionally–their contact information is on the “Services” page.
The club is dedicated to bringing people together who are interested in woodworking, woodworking tools/materials and wood finishing, and to promoting these interests using verbal and visual communication. We do so in a strictly non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-racial environment.
You’re invited to join our monthly meeting. All meetings are low-key and friendly. Occasionally we have formal presentations, but at most meetings we share woodworking ideas and knowledge. Members bring current projects or pictures of projects they are working on for our “show and tell”. Seldom is there a set agenda, mostly we just talk about woodworking, tools, or various techniques of handling projects.
Members are at various woodworking levels, so beginners and old timers are welcome. Everyone has some ideas that are new to someone else and sharing those ideas is what makes the meetings fun. Some members specialize in areas such as scroll sawing, woodturning and cabinet making.
